MARY FLANIGAN

Mary Flanigan is a stand-up, writer and performer who has appeared throughout the UK and Ireland. She was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2023 and was nominated for the Birmingham Breaking Talent 2019 award. She appeared and wrote for ‘Soft Border Patrol’ on BBC Northern Ireland, ‘Quick Comedy’ on Radio Ulster, and ‘Parish Matters’ for Radio 4.  She wrote and starred in comedy special ‘The Rest of Us’ on Radio 4 with Eleanor Morton and Essylt Sears. She is a member of the BBC Northern Ireland Writersroom group 'Belfast Voices'. She has supported Eleanor Morton and Fern Brady on tour, and appeared in Mark Watson's Watsonathon twice.  Chortle has called her 'smart, pithy...sharp and astute'. She is a semi-finalist in the 2025 Funny Women awards, and was longlisted for the David Nobbs Memorial Comedy Writing Award. Her sketches will be performed at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe, as part of the Gobby Girls' show 'The 11% Club'.
